Carlow Mental Health Association introduced Mensana Fest six years ago to raise awareness of mental health in Carlow. 2015, Mensana Fest offers people practical ways to maintain and improve their mental health and resilience. People from all walks of life are encouraged to learn, talk, reflect and engage with others on all issues relating to mental health.
We all have mental health. Mental health is more than the absence of mental illness, it’s a state of overall health and well-being. Maintaining good mental health in today’s hectic and stress-filled society can be a challenge. It is estimated that at least 1 in 4 Irish people experience mental health problems each year. Mental health issues indirectly affect us all at some time through a family member, friend or colleague.
This year, Carlow Mental Health Association, together with various Carlow town and county based organisations, are delighted to be offering a range of activities suitable for everyone.
