We are thrilled to announce our focus for Mensana 2025, bringing the impactful Elephant in the Room mental health campaign to Carlow! This nationally recognised initiative, created by Brent Pope, uses striking elephant sculptures to represent the mental health issues we often avoid discussing—the “elephant in the room.”

Our goal is to bring one of these elephants to Carlow and move it between key locations throughout the year to spark ongoing conversations and awareness around mental health. To make this vision a reality, we need your support.

A bespoke sculpture elephant 4ft x 4ft, weighing 25Kg, secured on a 25kg wooden plinth. This is created with fiberglass and has a robust poly-resin finish that protects the sculpture.  Launch on the 10th of October 2025, World Mental health Day, Mensana

We are inviting local businesses and organisations to join us in this campaign by becoming sponsors. Your contribution of €250.00 will go directly towards:

Purchasing and transporting a life-sized elephant sculpture
Displaying it in various public locations across the county
Running awareness events and mental health conversations around it
By participating, your business will benefit in several meaningful ways:

We’ve all been touched by mental health—personally or through someone we love. Yet, it’s still something many find hard to talk about. This campaign is about making those conversations visible, approachable, and impossible to ignore.

By supporting this campaign, your business will be helping to break the silence around Mental Health and show that Carlow cares.  We have 50 spaces available for sponsorship on our custom designed Elephant where your logo can be displayed.

We are currently seeking:

Sponsorship from local businesses and organisations.  As a sponsor or partner, your organisation will be publicly acknowledged and associated with a meaningful, visible movement for mental health in our community. You will be joining Carlow Mental Health Association and County Carlow Chamber as ambassadors for mental health.
