Description

Supporting LGBTQ+ Young People is a free online training programme developed by Jigsaw in partnership with Belong To. It is designed for adults who work with or care for young people, and aims to build their knowledge, confidence and skills to better support LGBTQ+ young people’s mental health and wellbeing.

Research consistently shows that LGBTQ+ young people experience higher rates of mental health difficulties. This training helps adults create safer, more inclusive environments and respond supportively to young people who may be struggling with their identity or mental health.

What you will learn:

  • Key terms and concepts related to sexual orientation and gender identity
  • The unique mental health challenges faced by LGBTQ+ young people
  • How to create a safe and inclusive environment
  • How to have supportive, open conversations with young people
  • Signposting to LGBTQ+ specific support services in Ireland

The programme is fully online and self-paced. No registration is required.
